Breast surgeries, including breast enlargement and breast lifts, are an effective way to refresh the appearance of your breasts and reduce the signs of aging.

The secret to postponing aging breasts? Daily moisturizing and breastfeeding can stave off the effect aging has on the breasts, according to a new study in Aesthetic Surgery Journal.

In the study, researchers looked at the effects of certain lifestyle factors on the breasts of 161 pairs of identical twins, according to an article from ABC News. Because genetics would cause your identical twin’s breasts to look the same as yours, any differences in breast appearance would be attributed to environmental factors. Some of the factors researchers looked at included:

  • Smoking
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Daily moisturizing
  • Breastfeeding
  • Hormone replacement therapy

Women who moisturized had fewer wrinkles on their breasts. The study also found that those twins who had undergone hormone replacement therapy had desirable breast and areolar shape and size. Also, twins who had breastfed were found to have better skin tone than those who had not breastfeed.

When you do begin to notice sagging, drooping and poor skin tone, breast surgery can rejuvenate the appearance of your breasts.
