Liposuction is a body contouring operation. A person who is within normal range of her or his body weight is an ideal candidate for liposuction. It is not a procedure to achieve weight loss.

Is liposuction dangerous?

Will I lose weight with liposuction?
You may loose some weight as result of some fat being removed. However, weight loss is not a goal of liposuction. Liposuction leads to size reduction by taking out excess bulges. The main benefit comes from better fitting clothes. Patients may loose dress size or sizes after liposuction without significant weight loss.
