Created by a woman named Kimberly Aschauer, the Facelift Bungee is supposed to be a non-surgical way to rejuvenate the face. Like a forehead lift, the device is supposed to eliminate signs of aging on the forehead. The device is sold in a little plastic container that looks like face-cream packaging. It’s selling for $25.

The Facelift Bungee is two little combs connected by a bungee. Each comb is placed in a small braid you make on either side of your head. The bungee goes around the back of your head, pulling back on the hair and skin where the combs are located.

Devices like these are touted as offering an inexpensive way to look younger. While many women may be enjoying the benefits, you should also consider the advantages of getting a facelift. A facelift:

  • Eliminates sagging, droopy facial skin
  • Removes fat deposits along the lower third of the face
  • Defines the line of the jaw

Men and women in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond can usually benefit from a facelift. Although a facelift involves a surgical recovery period, once you have healed completely you can enjoy the results of your facelift for several years before you may want to consider another facelift. A disadvantage of innovations like the Facelift Bungee is that whatever results they offer are only seen while you wear the device.
