What to Expect on the Day of Arm Lift Surgery

In cases where excess fat is present but the skin is not sagging, Dr. Rai may use liposuction alone to improve the appearance of your arms. However, in most cases, when arm lift surgery is required for optimal sculpting, additional procedural steps will be necessary.

Arm lift surgery requires an incision through which the underlying tissue can be accessed. When necessary, Dr. Rai will tighten and sculpt underlying tissue before removing unsightly fat and unnecessary skin. If the underlying tissue is reshaped, internal sutures may be used to hold the new contours in place.

Arm Lift Recovery

Your Guide to Post-Arm Lift Care

There will be some swelling and bruising around the area following your arm lift. Any pain you may experience can be managed with over-the-counter medication. It will take around two to three weeks before you can resume your normal activities. Heavy lifting, exercise, and other strenuous activities will need to be avoided for longer.

Most of our Dallas area patients will wear a compression garment for a few weeks to support healing and help minimize swelling. Dr. Rai will schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your recovery and provide personalized aftercare instructions.
