What is a Forehead & Brow Lift?
A forehead and brow lift is a surgical procedure designed to elevate sagging brows and smooth out deep forehead wrinkles.
By repositioning the brow and tightening the forehead skin, this procedure creates a refreshed, more youthful appearance by reducing the tired or angry look that comes with drooping brows.
Surgical Approach to Sagging Brows and Forehead
- Open Brow and Forehead Lifts
- Endoscopic Brow and Forehead Lifts: An endoscopic brow lift approach is applicable when skin sagging is not extreme, and most of the concern lies with the hyperactive muscles of the forehead and brows. Small, hidden incisions are made in the scalp. The endoscope is inserted through these incisions. The corrugator and procerus muscles are located. These muscles are then partially removed to improve the frown lines.
However, when forehead skin needs to be removed, the open approach is more predictable and thus is the preferred approach.
