Women report significant improvements in three very important aspects of their lives following breast augmentation. According to a study published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, more than 80 percent of respondents reported significant improvement in satisfaction with their breasts, psychosocial wellbeing and sexual wellbeing following their breast augmentation surgeries.

Dissatisfaction with the appearance of your breasts can negatively impact your life. For some women, they feel unattractive and unfeminine because of the unhappiness with their breasts. This study is an important one because it shows the quality-of-life changes possible with breast augmentation.

The questionnaire looked at changes before and after breast augmentation with breast implants. Respondents were asked about:

  • Satisfaction with breast appearance
  • Satisfaction with breast augmentation outcome
  • Psychosocial wellbeing
  • Sexual wellbeing
  • Satisfaction with plastic surgery care

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, it has become important to evaluate how cosmetic surgeries improve patients’ quality of life. Researchers developed the questionnaire, which was given to 41 women six months before their breast augmentations, and then again six months after the procedure.
