Fat Transfer to the Buttock

Conveniently Located to Serve Dallas and Fort Worth

Fat grafting to the buttock (Brazilian Butt Lift) is a surgical procedure with the goal of enlarging the buttock to give a fuller appearance with more projection and volume. It involves liposuction of fat from the patient’s body (generally the arms, back, abdomen, flanks, and thighs). The fat is then processed down until only the pure fat remains and then this is reinjected into the buttock to give a natural and full appearance to the buttock that enhances the patient’s curves in dresses, jeans, and other clothing. Please note this procedure is performed by Dr. Surjit Rai only.

Is Fat Transfer to the Buttock Right for Me?

Fat transfer to the buttock is a viable option for those who are generally healthy and have enough fat deposits in other parts of their body to graft. People who want to achieve a curvier rear end with more volume are ideal candidates. If you’re interested in reducing excess fat in trouble areas while enhancing your buttocks, this procedure is the perfect option.

Before coming in for a fat transfer to the buttock, candidates must be free from infections and must be at a steady weight. Non-smokers who have a healthy lifestyle, including frequent exercise, are ideal candidates.

The Fat Transfer to the Buttock Procedure

The surgery for fat transfer to the buttock is normally done under general anesthesia, but in cases where only a small amount of fat is being transferred, it may potentially be done under local anesthesia with sedation.

Dr. Rai will remove fat from various parts of your body, such as your arms, flanks, stomach, and thighs, with liposuction. Liposuction is a technique that involves making incisions in the skin and then using a thin tube to remove fat from the body. After that, extracted fat will be cleansed and prepared for injection into your buttocks.

For fat transfer to the buttock, Dr. Rai makes three to five small incisions around the buttocks. The processed fat is injected into marked areas of the buttocks, giving them a fuller look. He will use stitches to close both the liposuction and fat transfer incisions.

What to Expect After Fat Transfer to the Buttock

After a fat transfer to the buttock procedure, you will need to take extra precautions, just as you would after any other surgery. Sitting on your butt is strictly discouraged for two weeks after surgery, and you will have to sleep on your side or stomach until the surgical site has healed fully. A post-surgical garment must be worn for a time to control swelling.

As you recover from fat transfer to the buttock surgery, swelling around your buttocks is expected for several weeks. The effects of this surgery are long-lasting and in some cases permanent.

It is possible that you will need more than one surgery to get the exact results you want. The final results of the operation may take up to six months to become fully apparent.
