Rhinoplasty is surgery to reshape the nose by altering its size, angle, curves, or proportions. The procedure can address the nostrils and nasal tip, also. In an open rhinoplasty, an additional incision is made across the strip of tissue that separates the nostrils to allow the surgeon better visualization. When the incision is closed properly, it is practically undetectable once it heals. An open procedure is the preferred method for patients who have had previous rhinoplasty.
